For some people these suggestions work, for some they work temporarily, and for others they don't work at all.įor me the problem is intermittent- I have not had Steam download problems for 5 weeks, but today the "corrupted downloads" are back without any major configuration changes.
The typical suggestions are to disable incompatible software (none on the list), hardlining the PC (not going to pull wires across 2 floors), rebooting PC (done), disabling firewall (done), disabling anti-virus (done), checking for disk errors (done), deleting all or part of the Steamapps folder (done). There are a number of threads dedicated to this catch-all error. How can you know that ? I don't see where you have posted asking for help about this before.First rule of discussion boards: search before posting. If Valve were to print out what exactly caused the download to be aborted there would be a chance to diagnose the problem. Why not find and fix the actual issue that is causing this ?
